2 Tesalonaika 2

1Now concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to him, we ask you, brothers,

1PEA ko eni, ʻoku mau kole kiate kimoutolu, ʻe kāinga, ko e meʻa ʻi he hāʻele mai ʻa hotau ʻEiki ko Sisu Kalaisi, pea mo ʻetau kātoa fakataha kiate ia,

2not to be quickly shaken in mind or alarmed, either by a spirit or a spoken word, or a letter seeming to be from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come.

2Ke ʻoua naʻa ueʻi ngofua homou loto, pe puputuʻu, ʻi ha laumālie, pe ʻi ha lea, pe ʻi ha tohi ʻo hangē ʻoku meiate kimautolu, ʻo pehē kuo ofi ʻae ʻaho ʻo Kalaisi.

3Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction,

3‌ʻOua naʻa kākaaʻi ʻakimoutolu ʻe ha tokotaha ʻi ha meʻa ʻe taha: koeʻuhi ʻe ʻikai hoko ʻae ʻaho ko ia, ʻo kapau ʻe ʻikai tomuʻa hoko ʻae liliu kovi, pea fakahā ʻae tangata ʻoe angahala, ko e foha ʻoe malaʻia;

4who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God.

4‌ʻAia ʻoku angatuʻu pea fakahikihiki ia ke māʻolunga ʻi he meʻa kotoa pē ʻoku ui ko e ʻOtua, pe ʻoku fai ki ai ʻae hū; pea ʻoku nofo ia ʻo hangē ko e ʻOtua ʻi he fale ʻoe ʻOtua, ʻo fakahā ia ko e ʻOtua.

5Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things?

5‌ʻIkai ʻoku mou manatu, ʻi heʻeku kei ʻiate kimoutolu, ne u fakahā kiate kimoutolu ʻae ngaahi meʻa ni?

6And you know what is restraining him now so that he may be revealed in his time.

6Pea ʻoku mou ʻilo eni ʻaia ʻoku ne taʻofia, kaeʻoua ke fakahā ia ʻi hono kuonga.

7For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. Only he who now restrains it will do so until he is out of the way.

7He ʻoku ngaue ni ʻae meʻa fakalilolilo ʻoe angahala: ka ʻoku ai ha taha ʻoku taʻofi, kaeʻoua ke toʻo atu ia.

8And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of his mouth and bring to nothing by the appearance of his coming.

8Pea ʻe toki fakahā ʻae taha Angakovi, ʻaia ʻe fakaʻosiʻosi ʻe he ʻEiki ʻaki ʻae mānava ʻo hono fofonga, ʻo fakaʻauha ʻi he malama ʻo ʻene hāʻele mai.

9The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders,

10and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.

10Pea mo e kākā kotoa pē ʻoe taʻemāʻoniʻoni ʻiate kinautolu ʻoku ʻauha; ko e meʻa ʻi he ʻikai te nau maʻu ʻae ʻofa ki he moʻoni, koeʻuhi ke nau moʻui ai.

11Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false,

11Pea ko e meʻa ko ia ʻe fakatukutukuʻi ai ʻakinautolu ʻe he ʻOtua ki he mālohi ʻoe kākā, ke nau tui ki he loi:

12in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

12Pea ke fakamalaʻia ʻakinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku ʻikai tui ki he moʻoni, ka nau fiemālie ʻi he taʻemāʻoniʻoni.

13But we ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers beloved by the Lord, because God chose you as the firstfruits to be saved, through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth.

13Ka ʻoku totonu ʻemau fakafetaʻi maʻuaipē ki he ʻOtua koeʻuhi ko kimoutolu, ʻe kāinga ʻofeina ʻi he ʻEiki, koeʻuhi kuo fili ʻakimoutolu ʻe he ʻOtua talu mei he kamataʻanga ki he fakamoʻui ʻi he fakamāʻoniʻoniʻi ʻe he Laumālie, mo e tui ki he moʻoni:

14To this he called you through our gospel, so that you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

14‌ʻAia naʻa ne uiuiʻi ʻakimoutolu ki ai ʻi homau ongoongolelei, ke mou lavaʻi ʻae nāunau ʻo hotau ʻEiki ko Sisu Kalaisi.

15So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the traditions that you were taught by us, either by our spoken word or by our letter.

15Ko ia, ʻe kāinga, mou tuʻumaʻu, ʻo kuku mau ʻae ngaahi akonaki ʻaia naʻe akonekina ai ʻakimoutolu, pe ko ha meʻa ʻi he malanga, pe ʻi heʻemau tohi.

16Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace,

16Pea ko eni, ko hotau ʻEiki ko Sisu Kalaisi pe, mo e ʻOtua, ko ʻetau Tamai, ʻaia naʻa ne ʻofeina ʻakitautolu, ʻo ne foaki mai ʻae fiemālie taʻengata mo e ʻamanaki lelei ʻi he ʻaloʻofa,

17comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word.
