Teutalonome 5

1And Moses summoned all Israel and said to them, “Hear, O Israel, the statutes and the rules that I speak in your hearing today, and you shall learn them and be careful to do them.
1PEA naʻe fekau ʻe Mōsese ke haʻu ʻa ʻIsileli kotoa pē, ʻo ne pehē kiate kinautolu, “Fanongo, ʻE ʻIsileli, ki he ngaahi tuʻutuʻuni mo e ngaahi fakamaau ʻaia ʻoku ou lea ʻaki ʻi homou telinga he ʻaho ni, koeʻuhi ke mou ʻilo ia, pea tauhi, pea fai ki ai.
2The LORD our God made a covenant with us in Horeb.
2Naʻe fai ʻe Sihova ko hotau ʻOtua ʻae fuakava mo kitautolu ʻi Holepi.
3Not with our fathers did the LORD make this covenant, but with us, who are all of us here alive today.
3Naʻe ʻikai fai ʻe Sihova ʻae fuakava ni mo ʻetau ngaahi tamai, ka ko kitautolu, ʻio, ʻakitautolu ʻoku moʻui kotoa ʻi heni he ʻaho ni.
4The LORD spoke with you face to face at the mountain, out of the midst of the fire,
4Naʻe folofola ʻa Sihova kiate kimoutolu ʻae mata ki he mata ʻi he moʻunga mei he loto afi;
5while I stood between the LORD and you at that time, to declare to you the word of the LORD. For you were afraid because of the fire, and you did not go up into the mountain. He said:
5(Naʻa ku tuʻu ʻi he vahaʻa ʻo Sihova mo kimoutolu ʻi he kuonga ko ia, ke fakahā kiate kimoutolu ʻae folofola ʻa Sihova; he naʻa mou manavahē koeʻuhi ko e afi, pea naʻe ʻikai te mou ʻalu hake ki he moʻunga;) pea naʻe pehē mai ʻe ia;
6“‘I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.
6“Ko au ko Sihova ko ho ʻOtua, ‘Naʻaku ʻomi koe kituʻa mei he fonua ko ʻIsipite, mei he fale fakapōpula.
7“‘You shall have no other gods before me.
7“ʻOua naʻa ke maʻu mo au ha ʻotua kehe ʻi hoku ʻao.
8“‘You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
8“ʻOua naʻa ke ngaohi kiate koe ha fakatātā, pe ha meʻa fakatatau ʻe taha ʻi ha meʻa ʻe taha ʻi he langi ʻi ʻolunga, pe ha meʻa ʻoku ʻi he fonua ʻi lalo ni, pe ki ha meʻa ʻoku ʻi he vai ʻi he lalo fonua:
9You shall not bow down to them or serve them; for I the LORD your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,
9“ʻOua naʻa ke punou hifo koe ki ai, pe tauhi ki ai: he ko au Sihova ko ho ʻOtua, ko e ʻOtua fuaʻa au, ʻoku ou totongi ʻae hia ʻae ngaahi tamai ki he fānau ʻo aʻu ki hono tolu mo hono ʻoe toʻutangata ʻokinautolu ʻoku fehiʻa kiate au,
10but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.
10Pea u fakahā ʻae ʻaloʻofa ki he ngaahi toko afe ʻokinautolu ʻoku ʻofa kiate au mo tauhi ʻeku ngaahi fekau.
11“‘You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.
11“ʻOua naʻa ke takuanoa ʻae huafa ʻo Sihova ko ho ʻOtua: koeʻuhi ʻe ʻikai lau ʻe Sihova ko e taʻehalaia ia ʻaia ʻoku ne takuanoa hono huafa.
12“‘Observe the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, as the LORD your God commanded you.
12“Tauhi ʻae ʻaho Sāpate ke fakamāʻoniʻoniʻi ia, ʻo hangē ko e fekau ʻa Sihova ko ho ʻOtua kiate koe.
13Six days you shall labor and do all your work,
13Ko e ʻaho ʻe ono ke ke ngāue ai, ʻo fai ai hoʻo ngāue kotoa pē:
14but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter or your male servant or your female servant, or your ox or your donkey or any of your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates, that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you.
14Ka ko hono fitu ʻoe ʻaho ko e Sāpate ia ʻo Sihova ko ho ʻOtua; ʻoua naʻa ke fai ʻi ai ha ngāue ʻe taha, ʻa koe, pe ko ho foha, pe ko ho ʻofefine, ko hoʻo tamaioʻeiki, pe ko hoʻo kaunanga, pe ko hoʻo pulu, pe ko hoʻo ʻasi, pe ha manu ʻe taha, pe ko e muli ʻoku nofo ʻi ho lotoʻā: koeʻuhi ke mālōlō mo koe ʻa hoʻo tamaioʻeiki mo hoʻo kaunanga.
15You shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the LORD your God brought you out from there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore the LORD your God commanded you to keep the Sabbath day.
15Pea ke manatu naʻa ke nofo ko e tamaioʻeiki koe ʻi he fonua ko ʻIsipite, pea naʻe ʻomi koe mei ai ʻe Sihova ko ho ʻOtua, ʻi he nima māfimafi mo e nima kuo mafao: ko ia kuo fekau ai ʻe Sihova ko ho ʻOtua kiate koe, ke ke tauhi ʻae ʻaho Sāpate.
16“‘Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God commanded you, that your days may be long, and that it may go well with you in the land that the LORD your God is giving you.
16“Fakaʻapaʻapa ki hoʻo tamai mo hoʻo faʻē, ʻo hangē ko e fekau ʻa Sihova ko ho ʻOtua kiate koe; koeʻuhi ke fuoloa ho ngaahi ʻaho, pea koeʻuhi ke hoko ai ʻae lelei kiate koe, ʻi he fonua ʻaia ʻoku foaki ʻe Sihova ko ho ʻOtua kiate koe.
17“‘You shall not murder.
17“ʻOua naʻa ke fakapō.
18“‘And you shall not commit adultery.
18“Pea ʻoua naʻa ke tono fefine.
19“‘And you shall not steal.
19“Pea ʻoua naʻa ke kaihaʻa.
20“‘And you shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
20“Pea ʻoua naʻa ke tukuakiʻi ʻa ho kaungāʻapi.
21“‘And you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife. And you shall not desire your neighbor’s house, his field, or his male servant, or his female servant, his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor’s.’
21“|‘Pea ʻoua naʻa ke holi ki he ʻunoho ʻo ho kaungāʻapi, pea ʻoua naʻa ke manumanu ki he fale ʻo ho kaungāʻapi, pe ki heʻene ngoue, pe ki heʻene tamaioʻeiki, pe ki heʻene kaunanga, pe ki heʻene pulu, pe ki heʻene ʻasi, pe ki ha meʻa ʻe taha ʻoku ʻa ho kaungāʻapi.’
22“These words the LORD spoke to all your assembly at the mountain out of the midst of the fire, the cloud, and the thick darkness, with a loud voice; and he added no more. And he wrote them on two tablets of stone and gave them to me.
22“Naʻe folofolaʻaki ʻae ngaahi lea ni ʻe Sihova ki hoʻomou fakataha kotoa ʻi he moʻunga mei he loto afi mo e ʻao, pea mo e poʻuli matolu, ʻi he leʻo lahi: pea naʻe ʻikai fakalahi ia. Pea naʻe tohi ia ʻi he maka lafalafa ʻe ua, ʻo ne tuku mai ia kiate au.
23And as soon as you heard the voice out of the midst of the darkness, while the mountain was burning with fire, you came near to me, all the heads of your tribes, and your elders.
23“Pea naʻe hoko ʻo pehē, ‘ʻI hoʻomou ongoʻi ʻae leʻo mei he lotolotonga ʻoe fakapoʻuli, (he naʻe vela ʻae moʻunga ʻi he afi,) naʻa mou haʻu ʻo ofi kiate au, ʻio ʻae houʻeiki ʻo homou ngaahi faʻahinga, mo hoʻomou kau mātuʻa;
24And you said, ‘Behold, the LORD our God has shown us his glory and greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire. This day we have seen God speak with man, and man still live.
24Pea naʻa mou pehē, Vakai, kuo fakahā kiate kimautolu ʻe Sihova ko homau ʻOtua hono nāunau mo hono lahi, pea kuo mau ongoʻi hono leʻo mei he loto afi: kuo mau mamata he ʻaho ni ʻoku alea ʻae ʻOtua mo e tangata, pea ʻoku moʻui ia.
25Now therefore why should we die? For this great fire will consume us. If we hear the voice of the LORD our God any more, we shall die.
25Pea ko eni, ko e te mau mate ai? He ko e afi lahi ni te ne fakaʻauha ʻakimautolu: kapau te mau toe fanongo ki he leʻo ʻo Sihova ko homau ʻOtua, te mau toki mate ai.
26For who is there of all flesh, that has heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the midst of fire as we have, and has still lived?
26He ko hai ia ʻi he kakai kotoa pē, kuo ne fanongo ki he leʻo ʻoe ʻOtua moʻui ʻoku folofola mei he loto afi, ʻo hangē ko kimautolu, pea kei moʻui?
27Go near and hear all that the LORD our God will say and speak to us all that the LORD our God will speak to you, and we will hear and do it.’
27Ke ke ʻalu koe ke ofi, pea fanongo ki he folofola kotoa ʻa Sihova ko hotau ʻOtua: pea ke lea ʻaki ʻe koe kiate kimautolu ʻaia kotoa ʻe folofola ai ʻa Sihova ko hotau ʻOtua kiate koe: pea te mau fanongo, pea fai ki ai.’
28“And the LORD heard your words, when you spoke to me. And the LORD said to me, ‘I have heard the words of this people, which they have spoken to you. They are right in all that they have spoken.
28Pea naʻe ongoʻi ʻe Sihova ʻae leʻo ʻo hoʻomou ngaahi lea, ʻi hoʻomou lea kiate au; pea naʻe pehē ʻe Sihova kiate au, ‘Kuo u fanongo ki he leʻo ʻoe ngaahi lea ʻae kakai ni, ʻaia kuo nau lea ʻaki kiate koe: kuo lelei kotoa ʻae lea kuo nau lea ʻaki.
29Oh that they had such a mind as this always, to fear me and to keep all my commandments, that it might go well with them and with their descendants forever!
29‌ʻAmusiaange ʻeau kuo ʻiate kinautolu ha loto pehē, kenau manavahē kiate au, pea tauhi maʻuaipē ʻa ʻeku ngaahi fekau, koeʻuhi ke hoko ai ʻae lelei kiate kinautolu, pea ki heʻenau fānau ʻo taʻengata!
30Go and say to them, “Return to your tents.”
30‌ʻAlu ʻo tala kiate kinautolu, Mou toe ʻalu ki homou ngaahi fale fehikitaki.
31But you, stand here by me, and I will tell you the whole commandment and the statutes and the rules that you shall teach them, that they may do them in the land that I am giving them to possess.’
31Ka ko koe, ke ke tuʻu ʻi heni ʻo ofi kiate au, pea te u fakahā kiate koe ʻae ngaahi fekau kotoa pē, mo e ngaahi tuʻutuʻuni, mo e ngaahi fakamaau, ʻaia te ke ako ʻaki kiate kinautolu, koeʻuhi kenau fai ki ai ʻi he fonua ʻaia ʻoku ou foaki kiate kinautolu kenau maʻu.’
32You shall be careful therefore to do as the LORD your God has commanded you. You shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.
32Ko ia ke mou tokanga ʻo fai ia ʻo hangē ko e fekau ʻa Sihova ko homou ʻOtua kiate kimoutolu: ʻoua naʻa mou tafoki ki he nima toʻomataʻu pe ki he toʻohema.
33You shall walk in all the way that the LORD your God has commanded you, that you may live, and that it may go well with you, and that you may live long in the land that you shall possess.
33Te mou ʻalu ʻi he ngaahi hala kotoa ʻaia kuo fekau ʻe Sihova ko homou ʻOtua kiate kimoutolu, koeʻuhi ke mou moʻui, pea mou lelei, pea ke mou fakatolonga homou ngaahi ʻaho ʻi he fonua te mou maʻu.
