Selemaia 49

1Concerning the Ammonites. Thus says the LORD: “Has Israel no sons? Has he no heir? Why then has Milcom dispossessed Gad, and his people settled in its cities?
1‌ʻOKU pehē mai ʻe Sihova ki he kau ʻAmoni; “ʻIkai ʻoku maʻu ʻe ʻIsileli ʻae ngaahi foha? ʻIkai ʻoku ai hono hoko? Ko e ʻoku maʻu ʻe honau tuʻi ʻa Kata, pea nofo ʻa hono kakai ʻi hono ngaahi kolo?
2Therefore, behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will cause the battle cry to be heard against Rabbah of the Ammonites; it shall become a desolate mound, and its villages shall be burned with fire; then Israel shall dispossess those who dispossessed him, says the LORD.
2Ko ia, vakai,” ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova, “ʻOku hoko mai ʻae ngaahi ʻaho, ʻaia te u fakatupu ai ʻae ongoongo tau ʻi Lapa, ʻi he kau ʻAmoni; pea ʻe hoko ia ko e tuʻunga meʻa liʻaki, pea ʻe fakaʻauha ʻaki ʻae afi ʻa hono ngaahi ʻofefine: pea ʻe toki maʻu ʻe ʻIsileli ʻae nofoʻanga ʻonautolu naʻa nau maʻu hono nofoʻanga,” ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova.
3“Wail, O Heshbon, for Ai is laid waste! Cry out, O daughters of Rabbah! Put on sackcloth, lament, and run to and fro among the hedges! For Milcom shall go into exile, with his priests and his officials.
3“ʻE Hesiponi, ke ke tangi mamahi, he kuo maumauʻi ʻa ʻAi: pea tangi ʻakimoutolu ko e ngaahi ʻofefine ʻo Lapa, mou ʻai ʻae tauangaʻa; pea tangilāulau, pea femaleleaki ki he ngaahi ʻā; koeʻuhi ʻe ʻave fakapōpula ʻa honau tuʻi, mo ʻene kau taulaʻeiki pea mo hono houʻeiki fakataha.
4Why do you boast of your valleys, O faithless daughter, who trusted in her treasures, saying, ‘Who will come against me?’
4Ko e ʻoku ke polepole ai ʻi he ngaahi teleʻa, ko ho ngaahi teleʻa mahu, ʻE ʻofefine fakaholomui? ʻAia naʻe falala ki heʻene ngaahi koloa, ʻo pehē, ‘Ko hai te ne haʻu kiate au?’
5Behold, I will bring terror upon you, declares the Lord GOD of hosts, from all who are around you, and you shall be driven out, every man straight before him, with none to gather the fugitives.
5“Vakai,” ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua ʻoe ngaahi kautau, “Te u ʻomi ʻae ilifia kiate koe, meiate kinautolu kotoa ʻoku takatakai koe; pea ʻe kapusi atu ʻakimoutolu ʻae tangata taki taha; pea ʻe ʻikai toe ʻomi ʻe ha taha ʻaia kuo hola.
6“But afterward I will restore the fortunes of the Ammonites, declares the LORD.”
6Pea hili ia te u toe ʻomi ʻae fakapōpula ʻoe kakai ʻAmoni, ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova.”
7Concerning Edom. Thus says the LORD of hosts: “Is wisdom no more in Teman? Has counsel perished from the prudent? Has their wisdom vanished?
7Ko e meʻa ʻoku kau ki ʻItomi: ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau; “ʻIkai ʻoku kei toe ʻae poto ʻi Timani? Kuo ʻosi ʻae fakakaukau ʻi he kau fakapotopoto? Kuo mole ʻenau poto?
8Flee, turn back, dwell in the depths, O inhabitants of Dedan! For I will bring the calamity of Esau upon him, the time when I punish him.
8Mou hola, ʻo foki mai, ʻalu ki lalo pea nofo, ʻae kakai ʻo Titani; koeʻuhi te u ʻomi kiate ia ʻae tuʻutāmaki ʻo ʻIsoa, ko e ʻaho te u ʻaʻahi ai kiate ia.
9If grape-gatherers came to you, would they not leave gleanings? If thieves came by night, would they not destroy only enough for themselves?
10But I have stripped Esau bare; I have uncovered his hiding places, and he is not able to conceal himself. His children are destroyed, and his brothers, and his neighbors; and he is no more.
10Ka kuo u fakatelefuaʻi ʻa ʻIsoa, kuo u fakaʻilo hono ngaahi toitoiʻanga, pea ʻe ʻikai te ne faʻa fai ke fakafufū ia: kuo maumauʻi hono hoko, pea mo hono kāinga, pea mo hono kaungāʻapi, pea ʻoku ʻikai ia.
11Leave your fatherless children; I will keep them alive; and let your widows trust in me.”
11Tuku hoʻo fānau tamai mate, te u fakamoʻui ʻakinautolu, pea tuku ke falala kiate au ho kau fefine kuo mate honau ʻunoho.
12For thus says the LORD: “If those who did not deserve to drink the cup must drink it, will you go unpunished? You shall not go unpunished, but you must drink.
12He ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova; Vakai, ko kinautolu naʻe totonu ke ʻoua naʻa nau inu; kuo nau inu moʻoni ki he ipu; pea te ke hao ʻaupito koe ʻi he tautea? ʻE ʻikai te ke hao, ka ko e moʻoni te ke inu ki ai.
13For I have sworn by myself, declares the LORD, that Bozrah shall become a horror, a taunt, a waste, and a curse, and all her cities shall be perpetual wastes.”
13He ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova, kuo u fuakava ʻiate au, ke fakahoko ʻa Posila ko e meʻa fakaofo, mo e ongokovi, mo e liʻaki, pea mo e malaʻia; pea ʻe lala maʻuaipē hono ngaahi kolo.”
14I have heard a message from the LORD, and an envoy has been sent among the nations: “Gather yourselves together and come against her, and rise up for battle!
14Kuo u fanongo ki he ongoongo meia Sihova, kuo fekau ʻae kau talafekau ki he ngaahi puleʻanga, ʻo pehē, “Mou fakataha ʻakimoutolu, pea haʻu kiate ia, pea mou tuʻu hake ki he tau.
15For behold, I will make you small among the nations, despised among mankind.
15Vakai, he te u ngaohi koe ke siʻi ʻi he ngaahi puleʻanga; pea ko e fehiʻanekina ʻi he kakai.
16The horror you inspire has deceived you, and the pride of your heart, you who live in the clefts of the rock, who hold the height of the hill. Though you make your nest as high as the eagle’s, I will bring you down from there, declares the LORD.
17“Edom shall become a horror. Everyone who passes by it will be horrified and will hiss because of all its disasters.
17Pea ʻe hoko ʻa ʻItomi ko e meʻa liʻaki: pea ʻe fakatumutumu ʻae tangata taki taha ʻoku fononga ofi ki ai! Pea ʻe fakaʻiseʻisa koeʻuhi ko hono ngaahi tautea kotoa pē.
18As when Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring cities were overthrown, says the LORD, no man shall dwell there, no man shall sojourn in her.
19Behold, like a lion coming up from the jungle of the Jordan against a perennial pasture, I will suddenly make him run away from her. And I will appoint over her whomever I choose. For who is like me? Who will summon me? What shepherd can stand before me?
He ko hai ʻoku tatau mo au? Pe ko hai te ne akonakiʻi au? Pe ko hai ʻae tauhi ko ia te ne faʻa tuʻu ʻi hoku ʻao?
20Therefore hear the plan that the LORD has made against Edom and the purposes that he has formed against the inhabitants of Teman: Even the little ones of the flock shall be dragged away. Surely their fold shall be appalled at their fate.
20Ko ia fanongo ki he fakakaukau ʻa Sihova ʻaia kuo ne folofola ki ʻItomi; pea mo ʻene tuʻutuʻuni kuo ne tuʻutuʻuni ki he kakai ʻo Timani: ko e moʻoni ʻe taki kituʻa ʻakinautolu ʻe he tokosiʻi pe: ko e moʻoni te ne ngaohi honau nofoʻanga ko e meʻa fakaofo ʻiate kinautolu.
21At the sound of their fall the earth shall tremble; the sound of their cry shall be heard at the Red Sea.
21‌ʻOku ngalulu ʻae kelekele ʻi he longoaʻa ʻo ʻenau tō, naʻe ongo atu ʻae longoaʻa ʻo ia ʻi he tangi ʻi he Tahi Kulokula.
22Behold, one shall mount up and fly swiftly like an eagle and spread his wings against Bozrah, and the heart of the warriors of Edom shall be in that day like the heart of a woman in her birth pains.”
22Vakai, te ne ʻalu hake pea puna ʻo hangē ko e ʻikale, pea mafola hono kapakau ki Posila: pea ʻi he ʻaho ko ia ʻe hoko ʻae loto ʻoe tangata mālohi ʻo ʻItomi ʻo hangē ko e loto ʻoe fefine ʻi heʻene langā.”
23Concerning Damascus: “Hamath and Arpad are confounded, for they have heard bad news; they melt in fear, they are troubled like the sea that cannot be quiet.
23Ko e meʻa ʻoku kau ki Tamasikusi. “Kuo puputuʻu ʻa Hamati pea mo ʻAapati: he kuo nau fanongo ki he ngaahi ongoongo kovi: ʻoku vaivai honau loto; kuo fakavai ʻakinautolu ʻi he mamahi ke hangē ko e tahi, ʻaia ʻoku ʻikai ʻaupito malaʻia.
24Damascus has become feeble, she turned to flee, and panic seized her; anguish and sorrows have taken hold of her, as of a woman in labor.
24Kuo vaivai ʻa Tamasikusi, kuo tafoki mai ia ke hola, pea kuo moʻua ia ʻi he manavahē: pea kuo maʻu ia ʻe he feinga mo e mamahi, ʻo hangē ko e fefine ʻoku langā.
25How is the famous city not forsaken, the city of my joy?
26Therefore her young men shall fall in her squares, and all her soldiers shall be destroyed in that day, declares the LORD of hosts.
26Ko ia ʻe hono kau talavou ʻi hono ngaahi hala, pea ʻe tuʻusi ʻae kau tangata tau kotoa ʻi he ʻaho ko ia,” ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau.
27And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus, and it shall devour the strongholds of Ben-hadad.”
27“Pea te u tutu ʻae afi ʻi he ʻā ʻo Tamasikusi, pea ʻe ʻauha ai ʻae ngaahi fale fakaʻeiʻeiki ʻo Penihatati.”
28Concerning Kedar and the kingdoms of Hazor that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon struck down. Thus says the LORD: “Rise up, advance against Kedar! Destroy the people of the east!
29Their tents and their flocks shall be taken, their curtains and all their goods; their camels shall be led away from them, and men shall cry to them: ‘Terror on every side!’
29Te nau ʻave honau ngaahi fale fehikitaki pea mo ʻenau fanga manu: pea te nau ʻave maʻanautolu ʻae ngaahi puipui, mo ʻenau ngaahi ipu kotoa pē, pea mo ʻenau fanga kāmeli; pea te nau tangi kiate kinautolu ʻo pehē, ʻoku ʻi he potu kotoa ʻae manavahē.
30Flee, wander far away, dwell in the depths, O inhabitants of Hazor! declares the LORD. For Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has made a plan against you and formed a purpose against you.
30“ʻAe kakai ʻo Hasoa, ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova, “Mou hola ʻo ʻalu mamaʻo, pea nofo māʻulalo; koeʻuhi ko Nepukanesa ko e tuʻi ʻo Papilone, kuo ne fakakaukau ha meʻa kiate kimoutolu, pea tuʻutuʻuni ha meʻa ke fai kiate kimoutolu.
31“Rise up, advance against a nation at ease, that dwells securely, declares the LORD, that has no gates or bars, that dwells alone.
31‌ʻOku pehē mai ʻe Sihova, ‘Mou tuʻu, pea ʻalu hake ki he kakai ʻoku fakafiemālie, ʻaia ʻoku nofo fakafiemālie, pea ʻoku ʻikai ha ngaahi matapā pe ha ngaahi fakamaʻu, ʻoku nofo taha pe ʻakinautolu.
32Their camels shall become plunder, their herds of livestock a spoil. I will scatter to every wind those who cut the corners of their hair, and I will bring their calamity from every side of them, declares the LORD.
32Pea ʻe vetea ʻa ʻenau fanga kāmeli, pea ʻave mo ʻenau fanga manu lahi: pea te u fakamovetevete ʻakinautolu ki he ngaahi potu kotoa pē, ko kinautolu ʻoku ʻi he ngaahi muileleu mamaʻo; pea te u ʻomi ʻenau mamahi mei he ngaahi potu kotoa pē, ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova.
33Hazor shall become a haunt of jackals, an everlasting waste; no man shall dwell there; no man shall sojourn in her.”
34The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning Elam, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah.
34Ko e folofola ʻa Sihova naʻe hoko kia Selemaia ko e palōfita ki ʻIlami ʻi he kamataʻanga ʻoe pule ʻa Setikia ko e tuʻi ʻo Siuta, ʻo pehē,
35Thus says the LORD of hosts: “Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, the mainstay of their might.
35“ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau, ‘Vakai, te u fesiʻi ʻae kaufana ʻo ʻIlami, ko honau mālohiʻanga.
36And I will bring upon Elam the four winds from the four quarters of heaven. And I will scatter them to all those winds, and there shall be no nation to which those driven out of Elam shall not come.
36Pea te u ʻomi ki ʻIlami ʻae matangi ʻe fā, mei he ngataʻanga ʻe ʻoe langi, pea ʻe fakamovetevete ʻakinautolu ʻi he feituʻu matangi ko ia kotoa pē; pea ʻoku ʻikai ha kakai, ʻe taʻehoko ki ai ʻae kau liʻekina ʻo ʻIlami.
37I will terrify Elam before their enemies and before those who seek their life. I will bring disaster upon them, my fierce anger, declares the LORD. I will send the sword after them, until I have consumed them,
37Pea te u fakailifiaʻi ʻa ʻIlami ʻi he ʻao ʻo hono ngaahi fili, pea ʻi he ʻao ʻonautolu ʻoku kumi ki heʻenau moʻui: pea te u ʻomi kiate kinautolu ʻae kovi, ʻio, ko e kakaha ʻo ʻeku tuputāmaki,’ ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova; ‘pea te u ʻomi kiate kinautolu ʻae heletā, kaeʻoua ke u fakaʻauha ʻaupito ʻakinautolu:
38and I will set my throne in Elam and destroy their king and officials, declares the LORD.
38Pea teu fokotuʻu hoku nofoʻanga fakaʻeiʻeiki ʻi ʻIlami, pea fakaʻauha mei ai ʻae tuʻi pea mo e houʻeiki,’ ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova.
39“But in the latter days I will restore the fortunes of Elam, declares the LORD.”
39‘Ka ʻe hoko ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho fakamui, ʻa ʻeku toe ʻomi ʻae fakapōpula ʻo ʻIlami,’ ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova.”
