1“Judge not, that you be not judged.

2For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you.

3Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?
3Pea ko e hā ʻoku ke tokanga ai ki he malamalaʻi ʻakau ʻoku ʻi he mata ʻo ho kāinga, ka ʻoku ʻikai te ke tokanga ki he fuʻu ʻakau ʻoku ʻi ho mata ʻoʻou?
4Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’when there is the log in your own eye?
4Pea ʻe fēfē haʻo faʻa pehē ki ho kāinga, ‘Tuku ke u toʻoa mai ʻae malamalaʻi ʻakau mei ho mata:’ kae vakai, ʻoku ai ʻae fuʻu ʻakau ʻi ho mata ʻoʻou?
5You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.
5Ko e mālualoi koe, tomuʻa, lī ʻae fuʻu ʻakau mei ho mata ʻoʻou; pea te ke toki mamata totonu ke toʻo ʻae malamalaʻi ʻakau mei he mata ʻo ho kāinga.
6“Do not give dogs what is holy, and do not throw your pearls before pigs, lest they trample them underfoot and turn to attack you.
6“ʻOua naʻa ʻoatu ʻae meʻa māʻoniʻoni ki he fanga kulī, pe sī hoʻomou mataʻitofe ki he fanga puaka, telia naʻa nau malamalaki ia ʻi honau lalo vaʻe, pea foki mai ʻo haehae ʻakimoutolu.
7“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
7“Kole, pea ʻe foaki ia kiate kimoutolu; kumi, pea te mou ʻilo; tukituki, pea ʻe toʻo ia kiate kimoutolu:
8For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.
8He ko ia kotoa pē ʻoku kole, ʻoku ne maʻu; pea ko ia ʻoku kumi, ʻoku ne ʻilo; pea ko ia ʻoku tukituki, ʻe toʻo kiate ia.
9Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone?
9He ko e tangata fē ʻiate kimoutolu, kapau ʻe kole mā ʻe hono foha, te ne ʻoange ki ai ha maka?
10Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent?
10Pe kapau te ne kole ha ika, ʻe ʻoange ki ai ha ngata?
11If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
11Ko ia kapau ʻoku mou ʻilo, ka ko e angakovi, ke foaki ʻae ngaahi meʻa lelei ki hoʻomou fānau, ʻe fēfē hono lahi hake ʻoe fie foaki ʻae ngaahi lelei ʻe hoʻomou Tamai ʻoku ʻi he langi kiate kinautolu ʻoku kole kiate ia?
12“So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
12Ko ia, ko e meʻa kotoa pē ʻoku mou loto ke fai ʻe he kakai kiate kimoutolu, ke mou fai ia kiate kinautolu: he ko e fono ia mo e kau palōfita.
13“Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many.
13“Mou hū ʻi he matapā fāsiʻi: he ʻoku fālahi ʻae matapā, mo ʻataʻatā ʻae hala, ʻoku fakatau ki he mate, pea ʻoku hū ai ʻae tokolahi.
14For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.
14Koeʻuhi ʻoku fāsiʻi ʻae matapā, mo lausiʻi ʻae hala, ʻoku fakatau ki he moʻui, pea ʻoku ʻilo ia ʻe he tokosiʻi pe.
15“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.

16You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?
16Te mou ʻilo ʻakinautolu ʻi honau ngaahi fua. He ʻoku toli ʻe he kakai ʻae fua ʻoe vaine ʻi he ʻakau talatala, pe ko e fiki ʻi he talatalaʻāmoa?
17So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit.
17Pea pehē, ʻoku tupu ʻi he ʻakau lelei kotoa pē ʻae fua lelei; kae tupu ʻi he ʻakau kovi ʻae fua kovi.
18A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit.
18‌ʻE ʻikai faʻa tupu ʻi he ʻakau lelei ʻae fua kovi, pe tupu ʻi he ʻakau kovi ʻae fua lelei.
19Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
19Ko e ʻakau kotoa pē ʻoku ʻikai tupu ai ʻae fua lelei ʻoku tā hifo, pea laku ki he afi.
20Thus you will recognize them by their fruits.
20Ko ia te mou ʻilo ʻakinautolu ʻi honau ngaahi fua.
21“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
21“ʻE ʻikai hū ki he puleʻanga ʻoe langi ʻakinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku pehē mai kiate au, ‘ʻEiki, ʻEiki,’ ka ko ia ʻoku ne fai ʻae finangalo ʻo ʻeku Tamai ʻoku ʻi he langi.
22On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’
22‌ʻE pehē kiate au ʻe he tokolahi ʻi he ʻaho ko ia, ‘ʻEiki, ʻEiki, ʻikai naʻa mau akonaki ʻi ho huafa? Pea ʻi ho huafa naʻa mau kapusi kituʻa ʻae kau tēvolo? Pea ʻi ho huafa naʻa mau fai ʻae ngaahi meʻa mana lahi?’
23And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
23Pea te u toki fakahā kiate kinautolu, ‘Naʻe ʻikai ʻaupito te u ʻiloa ʻakimoutolu: ʻalu ʻiate au ʻakimoutolu ʻoku fai kovi.’
24“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
24“Ko ia ʻoku ne fanongo ki heʻeku tala ni, pea fai ki ai, te u fakatatau ia ki he tangata poto, naʻe langa hono fale ʻi he funga maka:
25And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.
25Pea tō ʻae ʻuha, pea ʻoho mai ʻae vai, pea hoko mo e havili, ʻo tō ki he fale ko ia; ka naʻe ʻikai holo ia: he naʻe langa ia ʻi he funga maka.
26And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.
26“Ka ko ia ia ʻoku fanongo ki heʻeku ngaahi tala ni, pea ʻikai fai ki ai, ʻe fakatatau ia ki he tangata vale, ʻaia naʻe langa hono fale ʻi he ʻoneʻone:
27And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”
27Pea tō ʻae ʻuha, pea ʻoho mai ʻae vai, pea hoko mo e havili, ʻo tō ki he fale ko ia; pea holo ia: pea ko e meʻa lahi ʻa hono holoki.”
28And when Jesus finished these sayings, the crowds were astonished at his teaching,
28Pea kuo fakaʻosi ʻe Sisu ʻae ngaahi tala ni, pea ofo ʻae kakai ʻi heʻene akonaki:
29for he was teaching them as one who had authority, and not as their scribes.
29He naʻa ne akonakiʻi ʻakinautolu ʻo taau mo ia ʻoku mālohi, kae ʻikai hangē ko e kau tangata tohi.
