Maika 7

1Woe is me! For I have become as when the summer fruit has been gathered, as when the grapes have been gleaned: there is no cluster to eat, no first-ripe fig that my soul desires.
1‌ʻOIAU ʻeku mamahi! He ʻoku ou hangē kuo ʻosi ʻae tānaki ʻoe ngaahi fua ʻoe faʻahitaʻu mafana, hangē ko e toenga kālepi ʻoe toʻukai: ʻoku ʻikai ha fuhinga kālepi ke kai: naʻe holi hoku loto ki he ʻuluaki toʻukai.
2The godly has perished from the earth, and there is no one upright among mankind; they all lie in wait for blood, and each hunts the other with a net.
2Kuo ʻauha ʻae kau māʻoniʻoni mei māmani: pea ʻoku ʻikai ha kau angatonu ʻi he kakai: ʻoku nau toitoi kotoa ki he toto; ʻoku nau taki taha tuli ʻa hono tokoua mo e kupenga.
3Their hands are on what is evil, to do it well; the prince and the judge ask for a bribe, and the great man utters the evil desire of his soul; thus they weave it together.
3Koeʻuhi ke nau fai fakamātoato ʻi he kovi ʻaki ʻae ongo nima ʻosi pe, ʻoku ʻeke ʻe he houʻeiki, pea ʻeke mo e fakamaau ki he meʻa foaki; pea mo e tangata māʻolunga ʻoku ne fakahā hono loto kovi pea pehē, ʻoku nau ʻufiʻufi ia.
4The best of them is like a brier, the most upright of them a thorn hedge. The day of your watchmen, of your punishment, has come; now their confusion is at hand.
4Ko e lelei lahi ʻiate kinautolu ʻoku hangē ko e ʻakau talatala pe: ko ia ʻoku fungani angatonu ʻoku māsila ʻi he ʻa talatala: ʻoku hoko mai ʻae ʻaho ʻo ho kau leʻo, pea mo ho ʻaʻahi; ko eni ʻe hoko ʻenau puputuʻu.
5Put no trust in a neighbor; have no confidence in a friend; guard the doors of your mouth from her who lies in your arms;
5‌ʻOua naʻa mou falala ki he kaumeʻa, ʻoua naʻa mou falala ki ha takimuʻa: leʻohi ʻae matapā ʻo ho ngutu, meiate ia ʻoku faʻaki ki ho fatafata.
6for the son treats the father with contempt, the daughter rises up against her mother, the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; a man’s enemies are the men of his own house.
6He ʻoku fakaongokoviʻi ʻe he foha ʻa ʻene tamai; ʻoku tuʻu hake ʻae taʻahine ki heʻene faʻē, ʻae taʻahine ʻi he fono, ki heʻene faʻē ʻi he fono; ko e ngaahi fili ʻoe tangata, ʻae kau tangata ʻi hono fale.
7But as for me, I will look to the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me.
7Ko ia te u hanga kia Sihova; te u tatali ki he ʻOtua ʻo ʻeku fakamoʻui; ʻe fanongo mai kiate au ʻa hoku ʻOtua.
8Rejoice not over me, O my enemy; when I fall, I shall rise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD will be a light to me.
8‌ʻOua naʻa ke viki kiate au, ʻe hoku fili: ʻo kau ka hinga te u toetuʻu hake: ʻo kau ka nofo ʻi he poʻuli, ʻe hoko ʻa Sihova ko e maama kiate au.
9I will bear the indignation of the LORD because I have sinned against him, until he pleads my cause and executes judgment for me. He will bring me out to the light; I shall look upon his vindication.
9Te u kātaki ʻae houhau ʻo Sihova, he kuo u fai angahala kiate ia, ke ʻoua ke ne fakamatala maʻaku, mo fai ʻae fakamaau koeʻuhi ko au; te ne ʻomi au ki he maama, pea te u mamata ki heʻene māʻoniʻoni.
10Then my enemy will see, and shame will cover her who said to me, “Where is the LORD your God?” My eyes will look upon her; now she will be trampled down like the mire of the streets.
10Pea ʻe toki mamata ai ʻa hoku fili, pea ʻe ʻufiʻufi ʻi he ʻaia naʻe pehē mai kiate au, ‘Komaʻā Sihova ko ho ʻOtua?’ ʻE sio ʻa hoku mata kiate ia: ko eni, ʻe malaki hifo ia ʻo hangē ko e pelepela ʻi he ngaahi hala.
11A day for the building of your walls! In that day the boundary shall be far extended.
11‌ʻI he ʻaho ko ia ʻe langa ho ngaahi ʻā, ʻi he ʻaho ko ia ʻe hiki ke mamaʻo ʻae fono.
12In that day they will come to you, from Assyria and the cities of Egypt, and from Egypt to the River, from sea to sea and from mountain to mountain.
12‌ʻI he ʻaho ko ia ʻe haʻu ia, ʻio, kiate koe mei ʻAsilia, pea mei he ngaahi kolo kuo teu, pea mei he potu mālohi ʻo aʻu ki he vaitafe, pea mei he tahi ki he tahi, pea mei he moʻunga ki he moʻunga.
13But the earth will be desolate because of its inhabitants, for the fruit of their deeds.
13Ka neongo ia ʻe lala ʻae fonua koeʻuhi ko kinautolu ʻoku nofo ai, ko e fua ʻo ʻenau faianga.
14Shepherd your people with your staff, the flock of your inheritance, who dwell alone in a forest in the midst of a garden land; let them graze in Bashan and Gilead as in the days of old.
14Fafangaʻi ʻa hoʻo kakai ʻaki ʻae meʻa tā, ʻae kakai ʻo ho tofiʻa, ʻaia ʻoku nofo ngaongao ʻi he vao ʻakau ʻi he lotolotonga ʻo Kameli: tuku ke nau kai ʻi Pesani mo Kiliati, ʻo hangē ko e ngaahi ʻaho ʻi muʻa.
15As in the days when you came out of the land of Egypt, I will show them marvelous things.
15“ʻO fakatatau mo e ngaahi ʻaho ʻo hoʻo haʻu mei he fonua ko ʻIsipite, te u fakahā kiate ia, ʻae ngaahi meʻa fakaofo.”
16The nations shall see and be ashamed of all their might; they shall lay their hands on their mouths; their ears shall be deaf;
16‌ʻE mamata ʻe he ngaahi puleʻanga, pea te nau ofo ʻi heʻenau mālohi kotoa pē: te nau ʻai honau nima ki honau ngutu; ʻe tuli ʻa honau telinga.
17they shall lick the dust like a serpent, like the crawling things of the earth; they shall come trembling out of their strongholds; they shall turn in dread to the LORD our God, and they shall be in fear of you.
17Te nau ʻemo ʻae efu, hangē ha ngata, te nau ngaolo mei honau ngaahi luo hangē ko e kelemutu ʻoe fonua: te nau manavahē kia Sihova ko hotau ʻOtua, pea te nau ilifia koeʻuhi ko koe.
18Who is a God like you, pardoning iniquity and passing over transgression for the remnant of his inheritance? He does not retain his anger forever, because he delights in steadfast love.
18Ko hai ha ʻOtua ʻoku hangē ko koe, ke fakamolemole ʻae hia, pea ke laka atu ʻi he angahala ʻi he toenga ʻo hono tofiʻa? ʻOku ʻikai te ne maʻu ʻa hono houhau ʻo taʻengata, he ʻoku ne fiefia ʻi he ʻaloʻofa.
19He will again have compassion on us; he will tread our iniquities underfoot. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.
19‌ʻE toe foki mai ia, te ne manavaʻofa kiate kitautolu; te ne ikuʻi ʻetau ngaahi hia; pea te ke ʻenau ngaahi angahala kotoa pē, ki he loloto ʻoe tahi.
20You will show faithfulness to Jacob and steadfast love to Abraham, as you have sworn to our fathers from the days of old.
20Te ke fakapapau ʻae moʻoni kia Sēkope, pea mo e ʻaloʻofa kia ʻEpalahame, ʻaia naʻa ke fuakava ki heʻemau ngaahi tamai talu mei he ngaahi ʻaho ʻi muʻa.
