1Brothers, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved.
1ʻE Kāinga, ko e holi ʻa hoku loto, mo ʻeku lotu ki he ʻOtua, koeʻuhi ko ʻIsileli, ke fakamoʻui ʻakinautolu.
2For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.
2He ʻoku ou fakamoʻoni kiate kinautolu ʻoku ʻiate kinautolu ʻae fai feinga ki he ʻOtua, ka ʻoku ʻikai taau mo e poto.
3For, being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness.

4For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

5For Moses writes about the righteousness that is based on the law, that the person who does the commandments shall live by them.
5He ʻoku fakahā ʻe Mōsese ʻae fakatonuhia ʻaia ʻoku ʻi he fono, “Ko e tangata ʻoku ne fai ʻae ngaahi meʻa ni, ʻe moʻui ai ia.”
6But the righteousness based on faith says, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’” (that is, to bring Christ down)
6Ka ko e fakatonuhia ʻoku ʻi he tui ʻoku lea ia, ʻo pehē, “ʻOua naʻa ke pehē ʻi ho loto, Ko hai te ne ʻalu hake ki he langi?” (Ko e pehē, ke ʻohifo ʻa Kalaisi:)
7or “‘Who will descend into the abyss?’” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).
7pe, “Ko hai te ne ʻalu hifo ki he loloto?” (Ko e pehē, ke ʻohake ʻa Kalaisi mei he mate.)
8But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim);
8Ka ʻoku pehē ia ko e hā? “ʻOku ofi ʻae lea kiate koe, ʻi ho ngutu, pea ʻi ho loto:” ʻaia ko e lea ʻoe tui, ʻoku mau malangaʻaki;
9because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
9Koeʻuhi kapau te ke fakahā ʻaki ho ngutu ʻae ʻEiki ko Sisu, pea ke tui ʻi ho loto kuo fokotuʻu ia ʻe he ʻOtua mei he mate, ʻe fakamoʻui koe.
10For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
10He ʻoku tui ʻae tangata ʻaki ʻae loto ki he fakatonuhia; pea ʻoku fakahā ʻaki ʻae ngutu ʻae fakamoʻui.
11For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.”
11He ʻoku pehē ʻae tohi, “Ko ia ia ʻe tui kiate ia, ʻe ʻikai mā ia.”
12For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him.
12He ʻoku ʻikai ha fai kehekehe ki he Siu mo e Kiliki: he ko e ʻEiki pe ko ia ʻoe kakai kotoa pē ʻoku mohu angalelei ki he kakai kotoa pē ʻoku ui kiate ia.
13For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
13“He ko ia ia ʻe ui ki he huafa ʻoe ʻEiki, ʻe fakamoʻui ia.”
14How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?
14Kae fēfē ʻenau ui kiate ia naʻe ʻikai te nau tui ki ai? Pea fēfē ʻenau tui kiate ia naʻe ʻikai te nau fanongo ki ai? Pea fēfē ʻenau fanongo taʻehataha ʻe malanga?
15And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”
15Pea fēfē ʻenau malanga, ʻoka ʻikai fekau atu ʻakinautolu? ʻO hangē ko ia kuo tohi, “Hono ʻikai fakaʻofoʻofa ʻae vaʻe ʻokinautolu ʻoku malangaʻaki ʻae ongoongolelei ʻoe melino, pea ʻomi ʻae ongoongo fiefia ʻoe ngaahi meʻa lelei!”
16But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?”
16Ka kuo ʻikai te nau talangofua kotoa pē ki he ongoongolelei. He ʻoku pehē ʻe ʻIsaia, “ʻEiki, Ko hai kuo tui ki heʻemau ongoongoa?”
17So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
17Ko ia, ʻoku mei he fanongo ʻae tui, mo e fanongo mei he folofola ʻae ʻOtua.
18But I ask, have they not heard? Indeed they have, for “Their voice has gone out to all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world.”
18Ka ʻoku ou pehē, “ʻIkai kuo nau fanongo? ʻIo ko e moʻoni kuo aʻu atu ʻenau fakaongo ki he fonua kotoa pē, pea mo e nau lea ki he ngaahi ngataʻanga ʻo māmani.”
19But I ask, did Israel not understand? First Moses says, “I will make you jealous of those who are not a nation; with a foolish nation I will make you angry.”
19Ka ʻoku ou pehē, ʻIkai naʻe ʻilo ʻe ʻIsileli? He ʻoku fuofua lea ʻa Mōsese, “Te u fakafuaʻa ʻakimoutolu ʻaki ʻakinautolu ʻoku ʻikai ko ha kakai, pea te u fakaʻitaʻi ʻakimoutolu ʻaki ʻae puleʻanga vale.”
20Then Isaiah is so bold as to say, “I have been found by those who did not seek me; I have shown myself to those who did not ask for me.”
20Ka ʻoku lea mālohi lahi ʻa ʻIsaia ʻo pehē, “Kuo ʻiloʻi au ʻekinautolu naʻe ʻikai kumi kiate au; kuo fakahā au kiate kinautolu naʻe ʻikai fehuʻi kiate au.”
21But of Israel he says, “All day long I have held out my hands to a disobedient and contrary people.”
21Ka ʻoku pehē ʻene lea ki ʻIsileli, “Ko e ʻaho kātoa kuo u mafao atu hoku nima ki he kakai talangataʻa mo angatuʻu. ”
