Sefanaia 1
1The word of the LORD that came to Zephaniah the son of Cushi, son of Gedaliah, son of Amariah, son of Hezekiah, in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah.
1KO E folofola ʻa Sihova ʻaia naʻe hoko kia Sefanaia ko e foha ʻo Kusi, ko e foha ʻo Ketalia, ko e foha ʻo ʻAmalia, ko e foha ʻo Hesikia, ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho ʻo Siosaia ko e foha ʻo ʻAmoni, ko e tuʻi ʻo Siuta.
2“I will utterly sweep away everything from the face of the earth,” declares the LORD.
2ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova, “Te u fakaʻauha ʻaupito ʻae ngaahi meʻa kotoa pē mei he fonua.
3“I will sweep away man and beast; I will sweep away the birds of the heavens and the fish of the sea, and the rubble with the wicked. I will cut off mankind from the face of the earth,” declares the LORD.
3Te u fakaʻauha ʻae tangata mo e manu; te u fakaʻauha ʻae fanga manu ʻoe langi, mo e ngaahi ika ʻoe tahi, mo e ngaahi tūkiaʻanga mo e kakai angahala: pea te u tuʻusi ʻae tangata mei he fonua, ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova.
4“I will stretch out my hand against Judah and against all the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and I will cut off from this place the remnant of Baal and the name of the idolatrous priests along with the priests,
4Te u mafao atu foki ʻa hoku nima ki Siuta, pea ki he kakai kotoa pē ʻo Selūsalema; pea te u tuʻusi mei he potu ni ʻae toenga ʻo Peali, mo e hingoa ʻo Kimalime, mo e ngaahi taulaʻeiki;
5those who bow down on the roofs to the host of the heavens, those who bow down and swear to the LORD and yet swear by Milcom,
5Pea mo kinautolu ʻoku hū ki he ngaahi meʻa ʻoe langi ʻi he tuʻa fale, mo kinautolu ʻoku lotu mo fuakava ʻia Sihova, pea ʻoku fuakava ʻia Malikami;
6those who have turned back from following the LORD, who do not seek the LORD or inquire of him.”
6Pea mo kinautolu kuo ʻikai ke kumi kia Sihova, pe fehuʻi kiate ia.”
7Be silent before the Lord GOD! For the day of the LORD is near; the LORD has prepared a sacrifice and consecrated his guests.
7Ke ke fakalongo pē ʻi he ʻao ʻoe ʻEiki ko e ʻOtua: he ʻoku ofi ʻae ʻaho ʻo Sihova: he kuo teuteu ʻe Sihova ʻae feilaulau, kuo ne tala ki heʻene kakai.
8And on the day of the LORD’s sacrifice— “I will punish the officials and the king’s sons and all who array themselves in foreign attire.
8Pea ʻe hoko ia ʻi he ʻaho ʻoe feilaulau ʻa Sihova, te u tautea ʻae houʻeiki, mo e fānau ʻae tuʻi, mo kinautolu kotoa pē kuo kofuʻaki ʻae kofu kehe.
9On that day I will punish everyone who leaps over the threshold, and those who fill their master’s house with violence and fraud.
9ʻI he ʻaho ko ia foki te u tautea ʻakinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku hopo ʻi he lakaʻanga ʻoe matapā, ʻaia ʻoku fakapito ʻae fale ʻo honau ngaahi ʻeiki ʻaki ʻae fakamālohi mo e kākā.
10“On that day,” declares the LORD, “a cry will be heard from the Fish Gate, a wail from the Second Quarter, a loud crash from the hills.
10ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova, pea ʻe hoko ia ʻi he ʻaho ko ia, ʻe ai ʻae longoaʻa ʻoe tangi mei he matapā ika, mo e tāngiloa mei hono ua, mo e maumau lahi mei he ngaahi moʻunga.
11Wail, O inhabitants of the Mortar! For all the traders are no more; all who weigh out silver are cut off.
11Tangi ʻakimoutolu ʻae kakai ʻo Makitesi, he kuo tuʻusi ki lalo ʻae kakai fakatau kotoa pē: kuo tuʻusi ʻakinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku fua ʻae siliva.
12At that time I will search Jerusalem with lamps, and I will punish the men who are complacent, those who say in their hearts, ‘The LORD will not do good, nor will he do ill.’
12Pea ʻe hoko ʻi he kuonga ko ia, te u hakule ʻa Selūsalema ʻaki ʻae ngaahi maama, pea tautea ʻae kakai ʻoku nau nofo fakafiemālie hifo: ʻaia ʻoku pehē ʻi honau loto, “ʻE ʻikai fai ha lelei ʻe Sihova, pea ʻe ʻikai te ne fai ha kovi.”
13Their goods shall be plundered, and their houses laid waste. Though they build houses, they shall not inhabit them; though they plant vineyards, they shall not drink wine from them.”
13Ko ia ʻe hoko ai ʻa ʻenau koloa ko e vetea, mo honau ngaahi fale ko e fakaʻauha: te nau langa foki ʻae ngaahi fale, ka ʻe ʻikai nofo ai; pea te nau tō ai ʻae ngaahi ngoue vaine, ka ʻe ʻikai inu ʻi hono uaine.
14The great day of the LORD is near, near and hastening fast; the sound of the day of the LORD is bitter; the mighty man cries aloud there.
15A day of wrath is that day, a day of distress and anguish, a day of ruin and devastation, a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and thick darkness,
15Ko e ʻaho ko ia ko e ʻaho ʻoe houhau, ko e ʻaho ʻoe tuʻutāmaki mo e mamahi, ko e ʻaho ʻoe maveuveu, mo e fakaʻauha, ko e ʻaho ʻoe poʻuli, mo e fakapoʻupoʻuli, ko e ʻaho ʻoe ngaahi ʻao, mo e poʻuli matolu,
16a day of trumpet blast and battle cry against the fortified cities and against the lofty battlements.
16Ko e ʻaho ʻoe meʻalea, mo e kalanga ki he ngaahi kolo ʻoku ʻāʻi, pea ki he ngaahi fale māʻolunga.
17I will bring distress on mankind, so that they shall walk like the blind, because they have sinned against the LORD; their blood shall be poured out like dust, and their flesh like dung.
17Pea te u ʻomi ʻae mamahi ki he kakai, ke nau ʻalu ʻo hangē ko e kakai kui, koeʻuhi kuo nau angahala kia Sihova: pea ʻe huaʻi honau toto ʻo hangē ko e efu, mo honau kakano ʻo hangē ko e kinohaʻa.
18Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them on the day of the wrath of the LORD. In the fire of his jealousy, all the earth shall be consumed; for a full and sudden end he will make of all the inhabitants of the earth.
18Pea ʻe ʻikai ke faʻa fakahaofi ʻakinautolu ʻi he ʻaho ʻoe houhau ʻo Sihova ʻe heʻenau siliva, pe ko ʻenau koula; ka ʻe keina ʻae fonua kotoa ʻi he afi ʻo ʻene fuaʻa: he te ne fai ke ʻosi vave ʻakinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku nofo ʻi he fonua.
