1“At this also my heart trembles and leaps out of its place.

2Keep listening to the thunder of his voice and the rumbling that comes from his mouth.
2Ke ke fanongo lelei ki he longoaʻa ʻo hono leʻo, mo e fatulisi ʻoku ʻalu atu mei hono fofonga.
3Under the whole heaven he lets it go, and his lightning to the corners of the earth.
3‌ʻOku ne fakahinohino ia ʻi he lalo langi kotoa pē, mo ʻene ʻuhila ʻoku aʻu atu ki he ngaahi ngataʻanga ʻo māmani.
4After it his voice roars; he thunders with his majestic voice, and he does not restrain the lightnings when his voice is heard.
4Hili ia ʻoku ʻuʻulu ʻae leʻo: ʻoku ne mana ʻaki ʻae leʻo ʻo hono ngeia; pea ʻi he ongoʻi ʻo hono leʻo ʻe ʻikai te ne taʻofi ia.
5God thunders wondrously with his voice; he does great things that we cannot comprehend.
5‌ʻOku mana fakamanavahē mai ʻe he ʻOtua ʻaki hono leʻo; ʻoku fai ʻe ia ʻae ngaahi meʻa lahi, ʻaia ʻoku ʻikai te tau faʻa ʻiloʻi.
6For to the snow he says, ‘Fall on the earth,’ likewise to the downpour, his mighty downpour.
6He ʻoku pehē ʻe ia ki he ʻuha hinehina, ‘Ke ke ʻi he kelekele koe;’ pea pehē pe ki he taumosi, mo e ʻuha lahi foki ʻo hono mālohi.
7He seals up the hand of every man, that all men whom he made may know it.
7‌ʻOku ne tāpuni ʻae nima ʻoe tangata kotoa pē; koeʻuhi ke ʻilo ʻe he tangata kotoa pē ʻa ʻene ngāue.
8Then the beasts go into their lairs, and remain in their dens.
8Pea ʻoku toki hū ʻae fanga manu ki he ngaahi ʻana, ʻo nofo ʻi honau ngaahi potu.
9From its chamber comes the whirlwind, and cold from the scattering winds.
9‌ʻOku haʻu ʻae ʻahiohio mei he feituʻu tonga: mo e momoko mei he tokelau.
10By the breath of God ice is given, and the broad waters are frozen fast.
10‌ʻOku tupu ʻae hahau ʻi he mānava ʻae ʻOtua; pea ʻoku ʻapiʻapi ai ʻae māukupu ʻoe ngaahi vai.
11He loads the thick cloud with moisture; the clouds scatter his lightning.
11Pea ʻi he faʻa ʻuha ʻoku ne fakamanifinifi ʻae ʻao matolu: ʻoku ne veteki ʻa ʻene ʻao ngingila:
12They turn around and around by his guidance, to accomplish all that he commands them on the face of the habitable world.
12Pea ʻoku ʻave fakatakamilo ia ʻe heʻene fakakaukau: koeʻuhi ke nau fai ʻaia kotoa pē ʻoku ne fekau kiate kinautolu ʻi he funga ʻo māmani ʻi he fonua.
13Whether for correction or for his land or for love, he causes it to happen.
13‌ʻOku ne pule ke haʻu ia, ko e meʻa tautea, pe ko e meʻa ʻa hono fonua, pe ʻi he ʻaloʻofa.
14“Hear this, O Job; stop and consider the wondrous works of God.
14“Ke ke fakafanongo ʻe Siope, ki he meʻa ni: tuʻu mai ʻo fakakaukau ki he ngaahi ngāue fakaofo ʻae ʻOtua.
15Do you know how God lays his command upon them and causes the lightning of his cloud to shine?
15‌ʻOku ke ʻilo naʻe fakatonutonu ia ʻanefē ʻe he ʻOtua, pea pule ke huhulu ʻae maama ʻo ʻene ʻao?
16Do you know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him who is perfect in knowledge,
16‌ʻOku ke ʻilo ʻae potupotumālie ʻoe ngaahi ʻao, ʻae ngaahi ngāue fakaofo ʻo ia ʻaia ʻoku haohaoa ʻi he ʻilo?
17you whose garments are hot when the earth is still because of the south wind?
17Pea ʻoku mafana fēfē ho ngaahi kofu, ʻoka ne ka fakatofutofu ʻae fonua ʻaki ʻae matangi tonga?
18Can you, like him, spread out the skies, hard as a cast metal mirror?
18He naʻa ke kau mo ia ʻi he folahi atu ʻae langi, ʻaia ʻoku mālohi, pea ʻoku tatau mo e sioʻata haka?
19Teach us what we shall say to him; we cannot draw up our case because of darkness.
19‌ʻAko mai kiate kimautolu pe ko e hā te mau tala kiate ia; he ʻoku ʻikai te mau faʻa fakatonutonu ʻemau lea, ko e meʻa ʻi he fakapoʻuli.
20Shall it be told him that I would speak? Did a man ever wish that he would be swallowed up?
20‌ʻE tala kiate ia ʻoku ou lea? Kapau ʻe lea ha tangata, ko e moʻoni ʻe fōngia hifo ia.
21“And now no one looks on the light when it is bright in the skies, when the wind has passed and cleared them.
21Pea ko eni ʻoku ʻikai mamata ʻe he kakai ki he maama ngingila ʻoku ʻi he ngaahi ʻao: ka ʻoku ʻalu ʻae matangi, ʻo ne fakamaʻa ia.
22Out of the north comes golden splendor; God is clothed with awesome majesty.
22‌ʻOku haʻu ʻae ʻafua mei he tokelau: ʻoku ʻi he ʻOtua ʻae ngeia fakamanavahē.
23The Almighty—we cannot find him; he is great in power; justice and abundant righteousness he will not violate.
23Ko e Māfimafi, ʻoku ʻikai te tau faʻa ʻiloʻi ia: ʻoku lahi ia ʻi he mālohi, mo e fakamaau, pea mohu angatonu: ʻe ʻikai te ne tautea.
24Therefore men fear him; he does not regard any who are wise in their own conceit.”
